On 26 June, a Pallas' cat was found near Sarigol Protected Area in North Khorasan Province. The cat was in a tree. Villagers caught it and called the DoE staff. I suspect that the cat has been chased up the tree by dogs. It was later released in the same area.

On 21 June, rangers found a dead Pallas' cat in the Qarasou mountains of Ors Sistan Protected Area. The cause of death is unknown but the local authorities suspect poisoning.
Both protected areas (PA) are located in northeastern Iran. Ors Sistan PA is east of the city of Quchan, and Sarigol PA is west of Quchan.
Move your mouse pointer over the map below to highlight these PAs. See also Pallas' Cat in Iran for more records in the country.
